Teresa grew up on the Table Bluff Reservation raised by her Mother, Step dad and Grandparents who starting teaching her at 6 years of age on how to make baskets, gather materials, bead and crochet. Born into a Yurok home and Family it was in her blood to carry her tradition and teachings not for her Family but for the world to enjoy and experience. Teresa belongs to the biggest Tribe in Humboldt County and carries the heritage, designs of the McGinnis Family, Spott Family, Peters Family, Charles Family, Moorehead Family and James Family. Teresa is a full time employee as Communication Director for Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria going on 11 years, full time wife and parent involved in the schools, community and volunteer for the Parent Teacher Organization and throughout the Tribal Community and surroundings. I enjoy spending time with Family, being creative, volunteering and planning events. I enjoy making jewelry from dentalium, bear grass, abalone, assorted shells, glass beads, crystals and assorted materials & crocheting caps with tribal designs. Inspired by Culture, Family &Tradition for daily wear and enjoyment. |
